Real life stories of gender discrimination

Action Global Communications designed and implemented a public awareness campaign for the United Nations Joint Programme in Georgia to Advance Gender Equality. As part of the campaign, an interactive, creative public event was organised highlighting the stories of women who face invisible barriers to economic independence, empowerment and professional development. Each of the stories was based on a real life and true experiences. Attendees included representatives of the Georgian parliament, civil society and the media who each had an opportunity to hear directly from the lead characters in the stories.

The “We Need Equality” campaign has been raising public awareness since 2017, focusing primarily on the political participation of women in Georgia. Expanding this year, the campaign advocates for women’s economic empowerment and examines and addresses the factors constraining Georgian women from participating in the labour market or succeeding as entrepreneurs.
