Harnessing Nigeria’s Potential for Economic Growth

When the Delegation of the European Union to Nigeria needed to manage their public and media relations for the 5th Annual EU-Nigeria Business Forum (EUNBF), they turned to Action Diplomacy to help make the event a success and create more meaningful connections for all stakeholders involved. Held on 10-11 November 2016, the forum brought together over 400 Nigerian and European representatives from large corporations, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and political institutions. This year’s EUNBF examined Nigeria’s potential for economic growth. Through panel discussions on electricity, roundtables on how SMEs can grow with the textile industry, and designated Business to Business (B2B) meetings, participants gained access to Ambassador of the EU to Nigeria, Michel Arrion, European Investment Bank representatives and Nigerian Ministers. In 2015, trade between Nigeria and the EU reached €30 billion, while the EU has committed a further €150 million to boost the Nigerian power sector. Action Diplomacy secured coverage of the event from top tier Nigerian media such as The Cable and the Nigerian Tribune, as well as international press and national TV Channels. The agency also provided digital services and management of social media content before, during, and after the forum. To see the achievements and results of the forum, please check-out #EUNBF2016.
