When the Delegation of the European Union to Nigeria needed to manage their public and media relations for the 5th Annual EU-Nigeria Business Forum (EUNBF), they enlisted the expertise of Action Diplomacy to make sure that the event would give rise to more meaningful connections for all of the stakeholders involved. Held on the 10th to the 11th of November 2016, the forum brought together 400 Nigerian and European representatives from large corporations, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and political institutions.
This year’s EUNBF examined Nigeria’s potential for economic growth. Through panel discussions on electricity, roundtables on how SMEs can grow with the textile industry, and designated Business to Business (B2B) meetings, participants gained access to Ambassador of the EU to Nigeria, Michel Arrion, European Investment Bank representatives and Nigerian Ministers, in addition to the tools and information to help their businesses grow. In 2015, trade between Nigeria and the EU reached €30 billion, while the EU has committed a further €150 million to boost the Nigerian power sector.
Action Diplomacy secured coverage of the event from top tier Nigerian media such as The Cable and the Nigerian Tribune, as well as international press and national TV Channels.
